Archive for Peeps Who Make My Life Special

Oh Welcom Back

After a MIA-ing for almost 4 months, I’m back. Got to apologies first and foremost to the blog for I have not contributed any ink to you for such a long time as I found out that research has more than meets the eye.

P070709_11.42

First of all, I’m really thankful that I am alive (Shut up you who’s rolling your eyes thinking research is a walk in the park). It certainly is the longest half year I have ever experience, and I have loads of rough years previously. Especially the one with the bedroom, the cyber cafe, and the incident at Maisons.

P250509_14.52

Second of all, thanks to you, who commented and pestered and urged and nagged me to update, this blog has been resurrected from a coma and is now temporarily operational until I find something else to burn my boredom. I know i really should update more frequently, but returning everyday from work is just tiring and all i wanted to do is just die on the bed. This effect was further enhanced when Chloe, a junior of mine, who actually knows the existence of this newbie’s blog. I was all like, Wow, someone actually reads my pieces of shit!

P310709_16.10

Third, I know I’m using research as the ultimate excuse for pretty much everything that has happened, but the fact of the matter is, it is because of research that so many things are happening. I’ve lost weight, I’ve lost precious party-ing time, I’ve lost fun friends time, lost some love here and there, lost the taste of alcohol (revived just last week), and of course, lost so many lives of rats. Probably near 100 already. I’m predicting that soon, SD Rat Jesus will descend from the heavens, unite all SD Rats are united under one unit, and stage a revolution against the humans.

P250609_14.23[03]

However today, is a special day. It is a day where I finally feel stress free. Though I still have a bunch of rats to kill, and my Type I diabetic rats’ cages still needs daily first class room service from yours truly, i feel strangely… detached from all the hum drum of research. Maybe it’s because I’m starting a new group of rats, which are being fed with 30% sucrose solution in their water, or maybe it’s the fact that I just watched one of the most awesome guy movies created, or because Sienna Miller was all I could think about throughout the whole movie, or was it the fact that exams are coming and I’m finally returning to my normal life? It could also be the drinking party, where I drank quite a number of Red Bull Vodka shots and 4 cans of beer without puking and doing the Nar Pee Yer, but it could also be the  meals with my family, talking about random things such as the weather, financial law, and the ever so controversial happenings in the country.

P160609_17.16[03]

So blog, you haven’t missed anything in my life.

Oops

Looks like i’ve been neglecting my blog for quite some time~ but anyway will give it a small update on what has happened lately~

  1. Had an awesome deja vu experience with the new canteen operators nasi lemak!
  2. Went to Melaka with Anthony and co. Was a superb weekend with my Macallen, a bit of greens, and awesome company!
  3. Also surprised (well half surprised) Yannee when i was down at Seremban to witness the Sem 6 Orientation.
  4. Missed most of the Sem 6 Orientation. But i miss all my friends who were there. Miss the times we had in the lecture theater, greeting each other in the hallway and bullying a few people along the way. Miss Ramzi and Wen Chung, who looked half dead even on their first day. It’s nice to know that there are some places where seriously, everybody knows your name.
  5. Sent Michelle, Mervin, Paul, and Ben Luke of to Dundee… Wasn’t really that sad until when me and Michelle were offline chatting on msn because of the time zone difference. That made me really really sad and a sudden feeling of void appeared in me. Sigh~ everybody’s leaving…
  6. I need to take more picture~~~ I looooove the mich’s dSLR!!!
  7. Bmed Science started, Francis I Achike to be my new surpervisor, with Jian Loong as my partner! We get to pull rat tails to kill them!
  8. Marley and Me was awesome! I would think it a difficult movie to make actually considering labradours to be very hard to handle little creatures. Not as accurate in the book, but well delivered.

Well that’s about it~ might go into detail what happened in each event!! Man this is becoming an assignment!!:)

Toilet’s 22!!

Ho Wen Chung has very peculiar initials. HWC. And when you take away the H, you’ll get WC, which means Water Closet, or a flush toilet.

n513425150_4966273_653

What we planned was to give him an uninformed birthday celebration involving 33 of his friends! Which he did not suspect till the very last minute and when he retaliated by saying he needed to go to the toilet! Great work la WC, the best excuse you can come up with at the time! Then while the rest were busy with him, wishing him, taking pictures with him, and just plainly distracting him, me and Chen Yi went to my place to pick up the:

n513425150_4965591_2982

The cornucopia!!!

Painstakingly assembled by hands not belonging to any of ours, it was given to him with a purpose. The purpose being that he had to carry the damned thing from IMU, through the LRTs, back home!

p171108_1843-copy

Poor fella, had to carry the package all the way on his 1 hour train ride home! Heck he even had a passerby wishing him happy birthday on the way!

So here’s to you, for just plainly existing in our lives as a friend! i hope you will remember this day forever in your mind! (although i seriously doubt it knowing your tendency to forget stuff~)

To Brainisloss

So i got this invite to go to Anthony’s birthday party yesterday. It was held on the actual birthday itself and was attended by close friends of Anthony and mostly family members and family friends. Having said so, i am quite proud to be in Anthony’s close friends circle, which included Kelvin, Renuka, Yannee, and Sanjeet.

The starvation i had to put up, and the long endless journey to Klang all paid off when i saw the drinks table, laden with Black Label, Bacardi, and Absolute. And to top it all up, the fantastic buffet table, which included awesome mutton, and a whole roast lamb served with delicious mint sauce.

Anthony, as always, entertained the guests as best as he could. Bless him, he didin’t even had time to eat his dinner! There was a 2 man band playing at the premises as well, and when Anthony finally had time to sit down and enjoy a proper meal, the 2 man band came up to him requesting a song from him! Quite naturally, being his friend, we all pushed, coaxed, and did whatever we could to bring him to sing. But also quite naturally, brain being brain, did not budge.

Later that night, the main event came! We were gonna perform the Friends Theme song in front of an audience of 90! And i was gonna be the one playing the guitar! Early on in the day, i was freaking nervous that i would screw it up someway or another and was tensed up for half the day. But we performed it well enough to get applause from the crowd and that was quite a memorable virgin performance by me!

And then there were the neighbours. There were a few neighbours out on the streets playing firecrackers. And they were playing dangerously close to my car. So finally, i dragged myself out to move the car and find a new spot to park. When i got the car moving, i immediately felt something was wrong. The steering was sagging to the left and there was a weird noise coming from the left side of the car when on the move. Further inspection after i parked the car revealed that my left front tyre was punctured and flat. I was quite in luck to have had this misfortune taken place in the presence of my friends who helped me changed the tyre in no time at all! Apart from Abilash who was drunk and was rolling the flat tyre around saying “look dudes!! i’m rolling a perdana!!!”

After most of the guests have left, a few of us teenagers stayed back to continue our drinking session. Which included a blue labeled 18 year old Chivas Regal whiskey (freaking tasty!!), Royal Salute, and a humungous bottle of 12 year old Chivas. Me being the idiot with the flimsy liver who cannot produce enzymes for nuts, went and down a quarter of a can of tiger beer, proceeding immediately to swallow 3-4 packs of whiskey. This fatal concoction would later prove a disastrous one when i buddha-ed en route from Anthony’s bed room to the toilet. Anthony’s Mum Rachel had to clean the mess up and i felt really guilty, sorry and just down right emo about the whole thing.

A nice night’s sleep and a Bak Kut Teh breakfast the next morning ended our weekend at Anthony’s place. And of course, i’ll end the post with the traditional words of thanks.

I would just like to thank Anthony for inviting me to the party~

To Paul, Rachel, and Marrie-Anne Stanislaus for your humble hospitality and tolerance towards me buddha-ing all over your abode.

To Kelvin, Renuka, Yannee and Sanjeet. Thanks for coming and you know the weekend would not have been special without you guys!

I need to study….

Jam

Picture this

Me and Anthony in his Silver Myvi, on the way home to Vista from Mid Valley.

We just paid the parking and were looking for the exit to Jalan Klang Lama. We found it, after numerous twists and turns. On the exit, there was a pile up, caused by some white Mercedes E240 breaking down on the middle of the ramp. After clearing, that we were on the kesas, heading to the underpass junction near Endah Parade. The junction was occluded by TONS of cars. While we waited in line:

Anthony: Eh~ damn jam wei.

Me: Yea… my bladder full wei.

Anthony: Eh, if we go straight, and head towards Seremban, got flyover to U-turn back anot?

Me: Probably not, but we could try!

Anthony: Want or not?

Me: Sure! Let’s be adventurous!

And so, we both headed to Seremban, only to find ourselves another jam… and all the exits to U-turn were clogged up much worst than at the junction before

Anthony: OH SHIT!!!

Me: I WANNA GO TOILET!!!

We soon by passed all the exits before the toll, and before we know it, we were at the Sungai Besi Toll Plaza. We took the ticket, and lo and behold, we came to another jam just after the Toll

Anthony: OH SHIT!!!!!!!!!

Me: My Bladded distended….

And so we braved the traffic, 1 kilometer at a time… for 13 kilometers where we turned off at UPM exit.

Once we yet again brave a new at the UPM toll plaza, we managed to piss off a toll worker by toping up anthony’s touch n go card, and paying the cash ticket at the same time… Tulan like anything le she…

We made a U-turn, put in Incubus’s Light Grenades CD, blasted it and gunned the accelerator back to vista.

The whole affair took one and a half hours. A journey that normally took 15 minuites.

Productive day indeed!

A’Famosa

So yea… there we were again, in Melacca. This time for the sole purpose of causing havoc around the house, make merry in the pool, and burn a couple of chicken arms to black oblivion.

Didn’t take many pictures and most of these came from Sanjeet’s camera.

I went with:

Lion-O

Tygra

Panthro

Cheetara

Go here for a better understanding~

Didin’t really do anything there, except for being drunk and high for the whole 70++ hours we were there. I could not remember much~ except these…

Sanjeet loves his dick well done

One of Many Beers to come

Ok… Boring part starts here:

Gotta thank Anthony who has graciously offered his house, chicken arms and pimp-mobile to us for the weekend.

Gotta thank Sanjeet, who bought pork sausages, drinks, bong, driving to and fro from Melacca, and roughly organizing the whole thing along with Anthony.

Gotta thank Seng Chye and Kelvin for their company, music, silly shouting, and plain craziness to form the icing on an already perfect cake.

X-Ray

First things first…

Wa! Margaret bought cupcakes!!

There was like…

Strawberry flavoured

Pineapple Flavoured

Orange Flavoured

Durian (freaking weird) Flavour

Chocolate Flavoured… and~

Blueberry Flavoured!

Haha~~damn cheesy lo the insides~~but it’s really really satisfying! Thanks Margeret

Went out to The Curve for the opening ceremony of Sanctuary’s new Smirnoff Ice Bar~ Apparently they have free food and free flow of Tiger Beer, whiskey, vodka, rum, and gin. Anthony was nice enough to call me, Seng Chye, Kelvin, Ming Hui and Ming Wai to the event!

Haven’t partied with this gang for a long time. Gotta say it was a hell load of fun! I know it’s exam month and all, but… what the hell~~ Guy’s gotta let steam out sometimes right?

It’s great to have friends chilling out and having fun~ Talking cock and just smilling the whole way through. Life should lean towards this area more often…

Went to have an x ray of my foot just tonight. This would not have been possible if good ol’ Kwan did not so good heartedly steped up to my cry of help to drive me to the clinic! I was quite afraid that the pain radiating from my right ankle would be a fracture, not counting the many words of advice coming from anthony (No lah…it’s not a fracture la! You can walk what!! No need to worry la!!!) and Jian Min (My brother last time also sprained like you! Hairline fracture le!! Was put on a cast and cannot play sports for 1, 2 months le!!). So i am quite happy and thankful that my leg isn’t fractured~ But the doc did advice me to bandage it when i walk and to get a walking cane (go to the antique shop and buy one of those smart looking british type of tongkat! Make sure it’s bamboo! Canes are made out of bamboo right? Then only strong ma!!). Anyway~

Thanks so much Kwan for driving me here and there~ Just wasted 45 minuites of your precious time le!! Will buy you lunch someday!! Thank Thank!!

going out for mamak~ Margaret’s hungry!

Dr. Ling

Today was the last day together with Dr. Ling Shih Gang. A very different fascilitator who starts every PBL with short, fun games while we wait for late comers, who amaze us with his knowledge and experience, his words of wisdom on life and how to be a better doctor and person, his really cheena look which i find really really funny and how a child could actually like him just by looking at him.

Yeah, we’ll miss you Dr. Ling! Hope we would have the pleasure of meeting you again in the future!

Loquacious, Too Loquacious

Ah i feel bad…

The scene is like this.

I am highly doubtful of my basketball abilities.

I have no stamina, i can’t shoot right, i can’t rebound properly, nor can i find my position on court effectively.

Plus,

The ankle sprain i got last April from the fall after stamina training with the m206 team in Bukit Jalil park has not healed yet. I still get constant sharp pains coming from the median aspect of my right ankle. To add kerosene to the fire, my left ankle is starting to feel sprains too. Currently am using Counterpain to help reduce the pain. It reduces, but does not banishes.

So, with all this, i go into the library to find Patrick (captain of our very own IMU Basketball Team), just after i heard that tonight there was a practice which i was uninformed (informed at the end of the last practice when i left early). And well, i told him bout my problems and he told me that i was needed because 5 of our team members either pulled out, or have ankle injuries as well. I felt bad bout the team, and ended up going for the practice and going for MAPCU as well…

Why am i so distressed?

For starters, I can’t firmly say no (yes mich, i feel you). I cannot look the fella in the eye and put my foot down and say NO. I looked like a fool in front of Patrick, because i think he must be thinking that this fella over here just needs attention, which i am so not. But still, i get that feel.

Sometimes i just wish i was good at something, then i can contribute. At my current state, i end up trying hard, but not succeeding. Every small success to me is like a miracle to me. If i was good, then i can feel that i am of use to the team, not dead weight that pulls the whole team down and become the cause of their failure. I cannot imagine that.

Sigh…

I dunno… I have self-esteem issues. And by the way Sanjeet once said about this, it’s like the worst kind of disorder to have. I hate it…

On a lighter note~

Went to Redhuan’s and Tracy’s Birthday BBQ celebration at Adrian’s The Maple!

Happy Birthday again to you 2!! :D

Went with Michelle, Mervin, Ben Luke, Ho Wai, Pei Shern, Yillin, Joon Heng, Swee Leen, Theong Rhen, Kwan, and Amrita

The food was good! Thanks to Ben Luke! The company was good~ Thanks to good friends~ The world was spinning in the end~ Thanks to Sangria and Ruby Red Absolute!

My drinking tolerance is like… Abysmal… Haih… Thanks Kwan who drove my car and everyone safe back to vista!

On Friday,

We celebrated Fang Han’s Birthday!!

Beforehand, on her birthday’s eve, we already surprised her (but failing badly)! William, Licin, Ailing and me talked about loads of stuff, ate hard-boiled eggs and potato chips, all the way till 2 in the morning!

Then on her birthday itself, Ramzi, Wen Chung, Yee Xuan, Fei Bing, Wei Lin, AiLing, LiCin, William, Sook Fen, Yen Bee, Sandy, Vivien, and Danis hid inside Fang Han’s bedroom, and when she opened her door, we tried (but failed) to smash balloons to scare her!! Haha~ That was pure fun!

We ate pizza, cam-whored, chatted and made Fang Han very very happy indeed!!

Haha~~
