Kanching

So we had this great idea, why not do something after eating lunch?

And, we ended up in a waterfall park, hidden from sight, on the coster roads heading to Rawang.

Ramzi said it’d be a short journey from Selayang to the waterfall, so we agreed, and lo and behold, it was a 15 min car ride inclusive of the compulsory U-turn made in order to get to the entrance.

However, it was all worth it. The first thing that greeted us, was monkeys. Wen Chung jumped on the fact that they were everywhere. It was drizzling, the sky was a moody shade of light grey and children can be heard screaming with glee as they went about their childhood. A short walk later led us to the foot of the waterfall, where we made our next smart decision: to climb to the top of the waterfall.

The stairs easily had 500 steps, made out of concrete and sometimes, just tree roots and dirt, nothing more. The journey up accumulated much lactic acid in my muscles and they burned in protest, but we edged slowly on. Sweating, wet, and a bit scared of the height, we reached the second tier of the waterfall.

We didin’t stop, but instead we kept pushing on, watching as half naked indian men holding beer cans walking around the place like it was owned by them. Somemore in front of malays, come on la idiots, show la some respect, i’m sure you all won’t want someone eating a Big Mac infront of you guys rite?

The path became steeper as we ascended. Stairs were literally broken off here and there, making it more hazerdous to climb, but still we climbed higher. Finally, we reached the forth tier and zenith of the waterfall. It was not exactly the top, but as top as the stair builders could go. This was the least populated, as well as the least contaminated (urine) area in the park.

We took a few pictures, waded our feet in the cold water, watched strange creatures swimming around in the liquid, commented that it was highly likely to kena Schistosoma Malayensis, teased the two poor fellas around, and had a few falls that nearly took our lives~ All fun.

Then we started the descend, which was equally as hard as going up. The dry and dying leaves did not make things better as it made the ground slippery. With nothing but cheap slippers to help us down, we arrived at the second tier of the waterfall.

Here the rocks were steep, smooth, scarred by pre-historic events, with the sound displaced air caused by the rushing water, it was a very comfortable place to be.

But… to get to this magnificent part of the falls, we had to go through a cave-in sort of place, where it was a 75 degree slope and nothing but a rope and some foot holes in the earth to support us going through. We were quite playing with our lives as it was very dangerous, however all worth it though~~

We proceeded downwards still till we came upon a balcony overlooking a waterfall. It was a very nice view. If it wasn’t because a certain somebody is keeping me in suspence by prevernting me from getting the pictures (i’m watching u!), i could’ve share with you guys the view. Aiya~~ It came out not as what i expected~~but it’s still a nice picture though~~

The trip finally came to an end where we say goodbye to the waterfall, and retreated back to Yen Bee’s home where we played ping pong (also certain people prevented me from getting the pictures @@), saw the magnificent view of Kuala Lumpur, ate rice biscuits and oat cookies, pineapples and mangos, barley and apple cider vinegar. Ah… Thanks Yen Bee!!!

Very tiring… will reward my body and soul with sleep later~~
